Now Hear This: Friday, Sept. 20

Join the lunch crowd from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at Brews N Bytes on Mulberry Street in Danville. That’s when Alf Bayshore will be performing on dulcimer. Afterward, head to Lewisburg. Woody Wolfe will be at the Susquehanna Valley Growers Marker on Rietz Boulevard from 2-6.

Later on, Ricky & Harv are at the Scarlet D in Mifflinburg from 8-11.

Over in Middleburg, Kimbo Riechley, Frank Wicher and Chris Trisatti will close out the deck for the season at Shade Mountain Winery. They will be playing music from 5:30-7:30. Call (570) 837-3644 for more information.

Larry Smith will be at McGuigan’s in Sunbury tonight from 6:30-8:30 and Josh Buck will be at the New Mt. Tavern on Route 15, Montgomery, from 7-10.

Flipside is playing at 6 at the 11th annual La Festa! Italian festival held at Bowman Field by the Sons of Italy. There’s lots to do at this carnival, which begins today and ends Sunday, and it’s all free. Bowman Field is at 1700 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

For any Fabulous Spastics fans who are also Lewisburg Area High School alumni, George Diefenbach and Jim Wetzel — two original members of the group — will be rocking at the LAHS Alumni Association’s get-together tonight after the football game, from 9-11, as part of Alumni Weekend. They will be joined by Buzz Meachum on bass, Larry Mitchell on keyboards, Greg Harvey on harmonica, Peggy Shelly on flute, and Steve Fecker on drums. This all takes place at the  Parkview banquet room behind The Bull Run Inn.

Please send news about music and venues to Terry Baylor  (terrilm62@yahoo.com) by 5 p.m. on Monday for inclusion in Thursday’s “Now Here This.” Photos always welcome
