Weekend 'Stroll' features plenty of free entertainment

LEWISBURG — Both the visual and the performing arts take center stage in downtown Lewisburg this weekend as the Lewisburg Arts Council sponsors the 15th annual Stroll Through the Arts, beginning Friday, Nov. 1, from 6-10 p.m.

Stroll Through the Arts showcases the work of various artists in more than 30 shops, studios and galleries along the six blocks of downtown Market Street. The artists range from painters to potters to jewelers to photographers, all from the central Susquehanna Valley region.

In conjunction with the Stroll Through the Arts, a silent art auction with more than 100 items will be held Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at  311 Market St.

On Saturday, various venues throughout downtown will have live bands playing. All performances are free and open to the public and include:

-- Hannah Bingman, Cherry Alley Cafe, 7-9 p.m.

-- Jina and Tom Rosencrans, Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 7-9 p.m.

-- Rustical Quality String Band, Brasserie Louis, 8-10 p.m.

-- Karen Nogle and Marc Tomeo, Mercado Burrito, 8-10 p.m.

-- Royal Benson, Temperance House, 8:30 to 10:30 p.m.

-- Folk Justice Band, Bull Run Tap House, 9 to 11 p.m.

-- PA Crude, Town Tavern, 10 p.m. - Midnight
