— Today is the big day this weekend, with music all over the place. From noon to 2 p.m., Degrees of Syncopation, the Latin and gypsy jazz trio of Joe DeCristopher, Carl Kirby and Bill Flack, will perform at the grand opening of CommUnity Zone at 419 Market St., Lewisburg.
Ricky and Harv are making their first foray to the Meiserville Inn, in Snyder County down Route 104 about five miles from Mount Pleasant Mills from 7-9 p.m. I haven’t made it down there in quite some time, but it was a nice place the last time I visited.
Puirseil’s Irish Pub on Sixth Street behind the Bull Run Tap House will feature Juice from 7-9 tonight. Elizabeth Guerrero sings jazz and pop standards, backed up by the dynamite combination of Don Krech on guitar, Bill Falck on bass and Stuart Shrawder on the drums.
If you feel like dancing, the Frank Wicher Band is at the Shamokin Dam Fire Co. on the Old Trail between Eighth and Ninth avenues from 8-11. $5 cover for that one.
Finally, back by popular demand, the Dueling Pianos will amaze and delight folks at the Sunbury Social Club on East Drive on Packer Island starting at 8 p.m.
