Sherry L. Arnold, 57, Mount Pleasant Mills
MOUNT PLEASANT MILLS -- Sherry L. Arnold, 57, of RR2, Mount Pleasant Mills, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, and is now running free without any illness.
She was born May 20, 1952, in Sunbury, a daughter of Clyde L. Lauver Sr. and Nancy (Reichenbach) Lauver of Selinsgrove. On Feb. 12, 2000, she was united in marriage to Larry E. Arnold, who survives. The couple shared nine years of marriage.
Sherry retired from the Selinsgrove Center as a residential aide.
She was a member of the Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene since the age of 10 and had attended Dresslers Ridge United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills.
Sherry cherished her family, especially holding a special love for her grandchildren. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed playing cards, especially 500 Rummy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sherry is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael E. "Bud" and Lindsy Heckman of New Berlin; one stepson, Ryan Arnold and his wife, Terri, of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Taylor, Noah and Nicholas, and a granddaughter to arrive in October; five step-grandchildren, Jordyn, Trevor, Madison, Ashley and Alissa; one brother and sister-in-law, Barry and Karen Lauver of Middleburg; four nephews, Jason, Matthew, Michael and Chad; one niece, Christin; and her very best friend, Gloria Teats, of Port Trevorton.
She was preceded by one granddaughter, Mikenzie, and one brother, Clyde L. Lauver Jr.
The family will receive friends for a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Selinsgrove Church of the Nazarene, West Sassafras Street, Selinsgrove, followed by a funeral service at 11, with Pastor Charles H. Melton officiating, and the Rev. Salvatore E. Buonocore, assisting.
Burial will follow the services in Evergreen Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
