Dorothy E. King, 96, Montandon
MONTANDON -- Dorothy E. King, 96, a longtime resident of Montandon, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
She was born June 27, 1913, in rural Millmont, Hartley Township, a daughter of the late James I. and Emma (Weirick) Zimmerman.
Dorothy was a cook for Farmer's Best restaurant and also worked in the custodial department at Bucknell University, retiring in 1975.
Dorothy was a member of Montandon United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one son, Wade S. King, of Foglesville; two daughters and one son-in-law, Veronica I "Vonnie" and Robert C. Mincemoyer, of Montandon and Jane E. Hunselman, of Lewisburg; three stepchildren, Betty Reiner, Barbara Embeck and Elaine Springer, all of Milton; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was the last of her immediate family. In addition, she was preceded in death by one son, Barry A. King, one stepson, John King, and a great-granddaughter, Angela Keefer.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mazeppa United Methodist Church, 3257 Johnson Mill Road, Lewisburg, where the funeral will be held at 11, with the Rev. Daniel H. Hicks, pastor of Mazeppa United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in Montandon Cemetery.
