KREAMER — On May 28, 1840, St. Peter’s Church was consecrated. By 1850, an enlargement of the building was considered necessary. During this period, the church was a union church with the building being used by both the Lutheran and the Reformed denominations.

The congregation continued to grow, so that in 1902, enlargement of the building again was considered. However, by the 1930s, this building was in poor shape. At the same time, the Kreamer Evangelical Church was at the point where it could no longer function as a congregation.

Thus, in 1933, during the Great Depression, the Globe Mills Lutheran congregation dedicated the newly acquired church and named it St. Peter’s Lutheran, keeping the name of the earlier church.

The congregation has about 120 members.
