Rationalizing his actions

Daily Item

---- — The article, "Tension Creates Issues for Corbett, Kane," is rather amusing, I think. Only three days ago, we read that the Governor "stressed that the Democratic attorney general must stick to the law when considering the deal" -- i.e., the proposal to have the State's lottery administered by a foreign entity -- "and said Tuesday that Kane cannot reject the measure just because she doesn't like it or for political reasons."

Yet, this is the same man who on Nov. 11, 2011, is reported to have said he supported the Penn State decision to force out a football coach and university president because "he'd lost confidence in their ability to lead."

I'm sure there must be some ounce of integrity amidst the irony in his positions. I just can't see it. The governor apparently would have us apply one standard to rationalize his own actions but another standard for the actions of others.
