Now Hear This: Saturday, Feb. 1

— The Old Forge Brewing Company gets a royal treatment when the jazz, rock and groove band Royal Benson pays a regal visit to the pub at 298 Mill St., Danville. The show is one you don’t want to miss because these guys are excellent and have a sound that needs to be experienced.

“We give everything we have to our music. For me the best part of performing is when you see the crowd really understanding and getting into the music and know that they are all feeling the same thing and having a good time,” said band member Matt Fern.

The Route 61 Road House in Sunbury will offered an open jam session hosted by Greg Snyder (this guy really gets around) and features unexpected songs and sound. No cover for this 8 p.m. show.

Sunbury’s own rockers, the 86 Band, will make some music at the Meiserville Inn from 8 to 11 p.m. Good times and good music, plus rumor has it there may some dancing taking place … by the audience, not the band.

Up in Williamsport, the Community Arts Center welcomes Starship with Mickey Thomas to the stage.

This variation of the rock and pop group Jefferson Starship of “We Built This City” fame starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $37.50. For more info check out www.caclive.com
