CROP Walk raised almost $12G

LEWISBURG —The Lewisburg Area CROP Walk marked its 35th year with new routes and its second-highest total ever of funds raised.

The event, sponsored by the Lewisburg Council of Churches and Ministerium, was held October 14, and raised $ 11,194.50 in its 5 kilometer and 1 mile walks in the Lewisburg borough and around the Bucknell Campus.

The new course for the Walk was designed either to pass or

at least to see all the sites in Lewisburg where food-sharing ministries take place.   One-quarter of the funds raised in this year’s Lewisburg Walk will support that work.

The CROP Walk, under the aegis of the ecumenical relief organization Church World Service, is held annually to raise funds to alleviate hunger locally and around the world.
