MILTON -- A Middleburg woman kicked a fallen teacher in the head and face, and pulled his hair, after her student son had gotten into trouble over a cell phone, Milton police said.

Cylinda Louise Krahel, 38, of 261 Starlight Drive, was arraigned Thursday before District Judge William F. Kear and charged with aggravated and simple assault, and defiant trespass, after Wednesday's alleged incident at an alternative school at Bethesda Day Treatment Center.

Police said Krahel came to Bethesda at 49-51 Lower Market St. around 10:55 a.m. Wednesday to pick up her son, who had become ill following a confrontation with teachers over a cell phone.

She entered the school, went to a classroom and began screaming and cursing at teacher Kurt Eck, creating a disturbance. Eck and school Dean Tiffany Hessek asked Krahel to leave, but she refused, police said.

Her son emerged from a detention room and physically attacked Eck. A second teacher, Matthew Keener, joined Eck in trying to restrain the boy. All three fell to the floor, at which time Krahel allegedly tried to pull the teachers off her son, police said.

Unable to do so, she began to attack Eck, police said.

Hessek tried to pull Krahel away, and Krahel pushed and shoved her.

Milton police arrived and took Krahel and her son into custody.

Police said she them she confronted the teacher "to make him feel like an ass, just like he makes the kids feel."

Krahel's son was initially placed in a detention room after he refused to surrender his cell phone, school officials said.

Milton police could not say whether anyone was injured in the alleged incident.
