— SUNBURY - For most people Labor Day marks the end of summer, but for the Shikellamy High School football team, summer ended weeks ago. On Aug. 12 the team began to have two practices per day in preparation for the upcoming football season. With such a busy schedule, players did not have much free time.
While some of us were sitting around putting off our Honors English homework, members of the football team were hard at work getting ready for the start of the season. Jonah Rees, an offensive lineman described the practices as “hard work, but they also allowed the team to bond and become a family.” With the Shikellamy High School football season now in full swing, only time will tell how these long summer practices have benefited the players.
