Route 54 traffic backed up at Danville-Riverside Bridge by oversized load

MONTOURSVILLE -- Motorists in the Danville-Riverside area are advised that an oversized load broke down briefly on the Danville-Riverside Bridge this morning.

PennDOT spokesman Rick Mason said Route 54 traffic is backed up.

Repairs have been made and the load has been moved to one side while final move preparations are made.

He said one lane has been reopened on the bridge in order to reduce the backlog of traffic.

Motorists are still advised to seek alternate routes for the time being, Mason said.
