Central Columbia dominates Central Mountain

BLOOMSBURG — The Blue Jays led in practically every statistical category on Friday night, even on the scoreboard as the Blue Jays held off the Wildcats.

Steve Shannon threw for 181 yards, including two touchdown passes, while Lewis Williams reeled in two touchdown passes to help Central Columbia’s offense roll.

Williams had two receptions for 90 yards, both for touchdowns. His second came ona  32-yard apss with 8:56 to play to all but put the game out of reach.

Central Mountain’s lone lead came early in the second quarter when its defense boasted a safety to make it a 9-8 Wildcats lead.

Central Columbia responded with a Shannon to Williams strike to reclaim the lead, 14-9 en route to taking a 20-16 lead to go into the half.

On the ground, Central Columbia out-gained Central Mountain 152-65 yards. The Blue Jays ran it 41 times, as Danny Koch led the way with 83 yards and a score.
