Cyber academy information session

DANVILLE — There will be and e-Learning Cyber Academy information session from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Danville Middle School.

The information session is open to all families or parents who are considering cyber school or families who currently have students attending cyber school.

Information will cover the e-Learning Cyber Academy, the online curriculum and the opportunity to earn a Danville diploma through the program.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Final 2013 hymn sing

DANVILLE — Zing Productions will host its final hymn sing of the year at 7 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul’s United Methodist Church at East Mahoning and Pine streets.

The sings have been held monthly throughout the year.

There will be no hymn sing in December, but they will resume in January. They are held the last Sunday of the month at St. Paul’s church.

Holiday events in downtown Danville

DANVILLE — A number of holiday events are planned in downtown Danville.

A candlelight preview, with special discounts and refreshments, will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday.

The Annual Holiday Open House will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Live music will be presented that day in Canal Park. There will be a heated tent for performers and the public.

The Seventh Annual Late Shoppers Night, with stores open until 11 p.m., will be Dec. 6.

Santa Claus will arrive in a parade starting at 11 a.m. Dec. 7. The parade will form at the Montour County Courthouse and end in the area of Beiter’s Department Store, all on Mill Street.

Children can visit with the Jolly Old Elf from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays and from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays Dec. 7 through Dec. 21.

The Iron Heritage Holiday House Tour will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 14 and from noon to 5 p.m. Dec. 15.

Santa’s reindeer can be seen from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 14 at Canal Park.

The Christmas grand prize drawing will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 20.
