— MAHONING TWP – East End Fire Company responded to 25 alarms in the month of November 2013, totaling 222 man hours of service. An average of eight firefighters responded per call, with a high of 17 firefighters.
Calls logged comprised of four grass and wood fires, eight motor vehicle accidents, four structure fires, one false alarm, four investigations, two rapid intervention team calls and two miscellaneous calls.
More than 85 hours of training occurred over two in-house sessions, with an average of 16 firefighters in attendance each session.
The department would appreciate it if residents who live near a fire hydrant would remove any snow around it to keep it readily accessible by emergency personnel.
