— DANVILLE – High school students and staff are hosting a fund raising event to help collect money for a sophomore fighting cancer.

Mackenzie Riley was diagnosed with cancer this past summer, said Danville High School teacher Erin Coughey, and the high school wants to hold a “Relay for Riley” run and walk-a-thon to collect donations.

Staff and students can sign up in teams and donate $10 for each hour the run or walk around Ironman Stadium. Area businesses are also donating, and community members are also welcome to attend, Coughey said. The Relay for Riley will be held Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to noon. Coughey can be contacted at ecoughey@danville.k12.pa.us.
