DANVILLE — The Save the Beaver Dam Project will be holding a free tree giveaway from 10 a.m. to noon, May 25, at the Ferry Street Grower’s Market. There will be about 1700 trees to give to visitors.

The group wants to raise awareness of their cause to purchase a 227 acre wetland in Mayberry Township at a June 1 auction in order to save it from real estate development.

Each tree given out will have contact information for local politicians, such as Congressman Lou Barletta and Representative Kurt Masser. The group hopes attendees will contact policymakers to spread word of their cause.
