DANVILLE — Nobody was injured in a two-vehicle Valley Township crash on I-80 caused when a tractor trailer struck a car which lost control on the slippery roads.
On March 18 at 5:24 p.m., Besnik Gjoka, 51, of Palisades Park, New Jersey, was traveling eastbound on I-80 at mile marker 223, when he passed Dany Paquet, 44, of Point-Rouge, Quebec, driving a semi-truck with a trailer in tow. Besnik lost control on the snow and slush on the roadway, striking a guiderail on the north side of the road before crossing both travel lanes and hitting the south side guiderail. Paquet attempted to swerve around Besnik, and the wheels of Paquet’s trailer struck the front of Besnik’s car.
With Besnik were Brunilda Gjoka, 46, and Aldi Gjoka, 17, both also from Palisades Park.
Besnik was charged with not driving at safe speeds.
