All competitors will get a T-shirt and a participation ribbon. While final times are recorded for each child, those times are not posted, said Billie Ingraham. The goal of the triathlon is “to have fun in a positive, supportive atmosphere, to encourage kids to get out and move,” she said.
An adult triathlon will be held the next day, June 15, beginning at 8 a.m. It will comprise of a 300 yard swim, 16 mile bike ride and a five kilometer run. The price is $50 for individuals or $30 per member of a team.
