VALLEY TWP. — Twenty-five tons of salt were delivered Wednesday to Valley Township and the township placed an order for another 25 tons of salt Wednesday, according to Supervisors’ Chairman Gary Derr who also works on the roads.
“We’re good for Thursday,” Supervisors’ Vice Chairman Walt Rupert said of supplies for the storm.
“The road crew is doing a good job,” Rupert said at Wednesday night’s supervisors’ meeting. “We have a very good crew,” he said.
Derr said the township has used about 200 tons of salt this winter.
During an average winter, the township uses about 170 tons of salt.
