The Valley Township supervisors held a public hearing Wednesday night on the restaurant seeking the transfer of a liquor license in Montour County. No one attended to object.
Harsimrat Sidhu, restaurant general manager, said they are talking with the owner of the liquor license in Danville.
The tentative approval the supervisors gave for the transfer is only good for that particular license, township zoning officer Mike Kull said.
Mom’s would need to purchase a restaurant liquor license. Attending were Supervisors’ Chairman Gary Derr and Vice Chairman Walt Rupert.
The supervisors plan to approve the license transfer at their meeting March 26.
Sidhu, whose family business is Sidhu’s Inc., said it could take some time for them to find a license.
Sidhu Inc. has owned the restaurant, at 25 Sheraton Road at the Danville exit of Interstate 80, four years.
Currently, the restaurant’s primary business is breakfast.
“We want to do more dinners. The license could turn that around and we could hire more people,” said Sidhu of Danville.
Mom’s, which also serves lunch and dinner, is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
