VALLEY TWP. — Real estate taxes are expected to remain the same in a proposed budget of $505,250 for 2014 in Valley Township.
Taxes are .454 mills which include .265 mills for the general fund, .164 mills for the fire fund and .025 mills for the equipment fund.
Income in the general fund proposed budget includes $45,000 from real estate taxes, $3,000 from real estate from tax claims, $5,700 from per capita, $30,000 from the realty transfer tax, $330,000 from an earned income tax, $5,100 from an occupational privilege tax, $14,200 from a CATV tax, $250 from fines from the district justice office, $3,000 from vehicle fines from the state police and $2,700 in interest.
Other projected income includes $4,800 from pension relief, $700 from liquor licenses, $16,600 received from the fire company relief fund, $2,000 in zoning fees, $3,000 in building permits, $500 in sewage permits, $270 from street lights, $900 from recycling and a $35,000 transfer from the equipment fund.
The supervisors expect to adopt the budget at their Dec. 11 meeting which begins at 7 p.m. in the township building.
