When Frank Dombroski stepped outside his home early Tuesday morning, he found he and his wife Karen had been flocked.
Thirty-six plastic pink flamingoes graced the front yard of their Washingtonville home.
They came from Kingdom Kidz, which uses flocking as a fundraiser.
The flockers delivered them late Monday night and expected to remove them Wednesday morning.
Tuesday was no special occasion, Dombroski said.
“It surprised the heck out of me. It was funny. I got a big laugh out of it,” said Dombroski, who serves as president of the Washingtonville Borough Council and is active in a number of community and county organizations.
“I’m not sure who did it,” he said.
“Somebody left a letter addressed to me saying a friend of yours paid us to place the pink darlings in your yard and it was done in good spirits with the flamingoes roosting until Tuesday evening and mysteriously migrating to another friend or victim’s lawn,” Dombroski said.
He said he planned to pass the flocking on By making a donation to Kingdom Kidz “to hit someone else.”
