VALLEY TWP. – Both drivers have been charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and other offenses from an early morning accident March 2 at Route 54 and Sheraton Drive.
State police at Milton charged William J. Levan, 42, of Bloomsburg, and Jordan R. Shaffer, 22, of 302 Honeymoon St.
Levan indicated to Tpr. Kimberly Crawford the accident, which occurred at 3:25 a.m., was his fault because he didn’t see Shaffer’s 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier approaching. Levan was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra truck.
Shaffer told the officer the light his way was blinking yellow.
Crawford detected a strong odor of alcohol when speaking with both drivers, according to the charges.
She charged Levan with having a blood alcohol level of 0.152 percent, a flashing signal violation, failure to yield the right of way to traffic and careless driving.
Shaffer was charged with having a blood alcohol level of 0.211 percent and careless driving.
