DANVILLE — DANVILLE — Holy Family Convent will sell homemade soups and subs Wednesdays during Lent through March 27.
Proceeds will be used to offset the cost of operating the convent at 1 Montour St. — a residential care home for elderly nuns from the Sisters of Christian Charity.
Two different soups will be available each Wednesday along with tuna, seafood salad and ham and cheese subs. Homemade baked goods will also be sold.
Orders can be placed in advance by calling Sister Joanne Marie or the kitchen at 275-3141.
Baked goods can be purchased by calling Sister Martina at 717-982-1604 or 275-3141.
The items can be purchased from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesdays. Signs will be posted telling visitors to use the kitchen entrance for service. The convent is off Route 11 behind the CVS Shopping Center.
The menu is chili con carne and butternut squash bisque March 6; Southwest chicken and seafood chowder March 13; chicken noodle and tomato soups March 20; and ham and bean and cream of broccoli soups March 27.
The cost is $4.50 for a quart and $8.50 for a half-gallon. Subs are $4.
