DANVILLE — Members of the new Danville Arts Council will be introducing their group to fair-goers at the Iron Heritage Festival this summer.

The arts council will have a tent located on Mill Street on July 20 where visitors can learn about the group’s mission and make donations, said council member Scott Richardson.

The council had originally planned to hold an art show at Impressions Studios during the festival, but had to change those plans due to a scheduling conflict.

Their current plan is to hold an art show to coincide with Danville’s fall Arts and Crafts Fair on Sept. 7. “This gives us more time to organize artists and volunteers and finalize the location,” said Richardson.

The arts council, a committee of the Danville Business Alliance, was organized to develop and present artistic talent in the Danville area. More information can be found at their website, www.DanvilleArtsCouncil.com.

The council is also looking for volunteers to help at its Iron Heritage Festival Tent. Those interested can contact the council via the Danville Business Alliance at 570-284-4502.
