Visitors guide available

DANVILLE —

The CMVB utilizes this magazine in a variety of ways. Through local and national advertising, 17,000 guides are mailed out upon request, as well as distributed at select Welcome Centers, Rest Stops and AAA’s across Pennsylvania. The Visitors Guides are given to all The Bureau’s members and are also supplied within relocation and recruitment packets in partnership with local businesses.

With the help of their members, this year’s visitors guide maintains its magazine style format with four different articles throughout the guide.  Articles include Carlisle Events detailing the Bloomsburg Nationals car show which took place at the Bloomsburg Fairgrounds; Great Outdoors describing the picturesque recreational activities Columbia and Montour counties have to offer; Forks Farm depicting the 86-acre farm and its market which prides itself on feeding healthy alternatives to mass-produced, packaged supermarket food; and Covered Bridge Puzzles illustrating the memento for covered bridge enthusiasts sold by the visitors bureau since 2011.

The visitors bureau worked with AdOne Advertising & Design on the production of the 2014 visitors guide.  The cover displays a picturesque fall scene highlighting the Sam Eckman Covered Bridge and a photo collection, featuring Kozmo’s Kurves at Knoebels Amusement Resort (courtesy of Knoebels); a waterfall at Ricketts Glen State Park (provided by the Columbia Montour Visitors Bureau); and a day on the water at PPL Montour Preserve taken by Ryan Sabo. The Visitors Guide features photography taken by CMVB Staff, Chris Hann (Carlisle Events), Forks Farm, Williamsport Crosscutters, Briggs Blues Farm, Turkey Hill Brewing Company, Old Forge Brewing Company, Canoe Susquehanna, and Knoebels Amusement Resort.

The guide is broken into nine different segments, including: How to Find Us (including detailed maps of Columbia and Montour counties), Calendar of Events, Attractions and Events, Food and Dining, Lodging, Recreation, Shopping, Community Services and a Member Index. Each section highlights the bureau’s 200-plus members.
