DANVILLE — DANVILLE – For the second consecutive year, a kickball tournament will be held to help hospitalized sick and injured children.
The Kickin’ It for Kids Kickball Tournament begins at 9 a.m. May 10 at Hess Recreation Area.
Proceeds benefit the Geisinger Janet Weis Children’s Hospital Miracle Network.
Last year, the tournament attracted 10 teams raising $1,200.
Kickball is similar to softball but with the pitcher rolling a large ball toward the kicker. Kickball has become a past time many adults find relaxing.
Teams are from 8 to 11 people. Ages 14 and younger than 18 can play with parental approval.
A T-shirt design contest will be held with teams creating their own T-shirts.
Prizes will be awarded for the winning design.
More than one game will be going on at a time during the tournament.
Food will be available.
