RIVERSIDE — Riverside borough council member John LaMotte suggested the community hold a possible brush and tree limb collection day, similar to the borough’s leaf collection day.
The borough could rent a wood chipper for a day in the spring and fall and residents can bring any fallen or cut tree limbs to be cut down, LaMotte suggested at the council’s Sept. 16 work session. “It’s tough to get rid of brush,” he said.
Borough secretary Deb Bausch noted that she receives many calls from residents asking if the borough has a way to dispose of brush and tree limbs.
Council president Peter Fleming said it was a good idea, but he wasn’t certain how people would store their discarded limbs. Leaving them in a pile over a month would just tangle them up.
“I think it’s a good idea to keep in mind for next spring, when they do spring clean-up,” he said.
