— DANVILLE – A trio of caped crusaders took on the dirty business of washing the windows of Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, much to the delight of patients.

Employees of Harrisburg-based Performance Services Inc. donned the tights of superheroes Spider-Man, Batman and Superman and rappelled down the side of the hospital with scrubbers and buckets of water on Nov. 12, all in the name of making the world a cleaner place.

Performance Services Inc. regularly cleans hospitals within the Geisinger Health System, such as Janet Weis, and this year Geisinger asked them to come as costumed crime fighters.

“It’s been a great response from both the big kids and the little kids,” said Eric Ruhl, of Performance Service Inc., who dressed up as Spider-Man for the day.

Performance Service Inc. had previously washed windows as superheroes at other Geisinger campuses, including Geisinger-Bloomsburg, Geisinger Wyoming Valley and the Geisinger – Community Medical Center in Scranton.
