DANVILLE — Parking confusion at Danville High School may cause some parking spaces to be transferred to neighboring Danville Primary School.
A big complaint among high school students is that it always appears there are spots available in the high school lot when in fact there are not, said high school principal Lee Gump. Those spaces are actually reserved for visitors and parent volunteers for the primary school, he said.
A possibility for the start of next school year would be to move some Danville Primary School faculty parking down to the high school lot and transferring the primary school visitor and volunteer parking to the primary school lots, said Gump. This would help deter high school students from parking in reserved spots they presume are empty as the space would now be filled with a faculty vehicle.
The district does not currently have the means to expand parking at the high school, said Gump.
