Accident victim improves

DANVILLE —

COOPER TWP. – A Danville man, reported Monday in serious condition following an all-terrain vehicle accident March 31, has improved.

A Geisinger Medical Center spokeswoman reported the condition of Scott A. Geringer, 47, as fair Tuesday.

State police at Milton said his vehicle flipped twice, landing on him at least once.

The accident occurred along Tower Drive and about 50 yards north of a home at 706 Tower Drive.

Police said Geringer was traveling south on Tower Road and attempted to negotiate a left curve. The 2001 Yamaha Big Bear 400 went off the right side of the road, traveled down an embankment, causing disabling damage to the vehicle and injuring the driver, police said.

Geringer got vehicle up on the road and continued to drive down Tower Road toward Bloom Road. As he approached Tower and Bloom roads, the vehicle went off the right side of the road and the plow on the front of the ATV dug into the ground, police said. This caused the vehicle to flip over twice, landing on him at  least once, police said.

Geringer was taken by a Danville ambulance to Geisinger.

Danville Fire Department and Danville fire police assisted at the scene.
