RIVERSIDE — Dale Erb, mayor of Riverside, has not received a response from his request to PennDOT to paint no-driving lines over part of the Riverside-Danville bridge.
Part of the bridge’s road that leads into Danville is not meant to be driven upon, but drivers do so anyway and often hedge in other vehicles around them, said Erb.
“I can see that turning into a road rage incident,” said Erb. “We’re fortunate nothing’s happened so far, that I’m aware of.”
He had wanted PennDOT to place the hashmarks across the section of the road, near its intersection with Front Street, to keep vehicles out of that section of the road.
At the Sept. 3 borough council meeting, council members suggested calling the Mahoning Township supervisors and conferring with them, since any accidents that occur are likely to fall on their side of the bridge.
