Geisinger was able to save $6.3 million on energy costs in 2011 through the use of its energy efficient upgrades at Danville. For 2013, they have so far saved $2.5 million, said Davies.
This past September, a Geisinger office building located on Justin Drive was awarded a U.S. Green Building Council Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, Silver Certification. Geisinger has 10 LEED-certified facilities throughout its system, including Danville’s Hospital for Advanced Medicine, Mill Street office building and the Henry Hood Center for Health Research.
