— DANVILLE – A group of good Samaritans stopped to help a tractor trailer that had stalled at the intersection of Route 11 and Mill Street.
Part of the truck’s airline, which helps control the brakes, had broken off, according to Brian Forester, of Danville, who pulled his car over along Mill Street to help the truck’s driver. Two other truck drivers topped to help as well when it stopped at around 11 a.m., Forester said. Other vehicles diverted around the stalled trailer without incident while repairs were made in the road.
It’s very common for part of the airline to break off, Forester said. The trailer was on its way again at around 11:20 a.m.
“I saw him stop at the intersection and we figured out what was wrong,” Forester said of his input. “It happens to everybody at least once.”
