DANVILLE — The Danville Fire Department has received a letter from Geisinger Medical Center security thanking the department for saving the downtown Geisinger building and the building housing Abigail’s Attic during the April 20 fire that heavily damaged BJ’s Steak and Rib House on Mill Street, according to Danville Borough Chief Chris Dickinson.

He also told borough council members Tuesday night the BJ’s fire response included 45 Danville firefighters. Additional manpower included 45 members of companies from Mahoning Township, Southside, Liberty Township, Washingtonville, Bloomsburg, Catawissa’s Rapid Intervention Team and the Northumberland Hook and Ladder Company.
