Zoning officer: Burned property handled, no demolition needed

— DANVILLE — While Montour County is considering a Mahoning Township demolition project, the township zoning officer said the matter is being handled.

Mahoning Township Zoning Officer Dean VonBlohn said Thursday the burned-out property, along River Road at the trail head, was purchased as of June 12.

The new owner possibly will rebuild there, he said.

The commissioners had included $27,000 from Community Development Block Grant funds to raze the building and restore the property to natural conditions.

Jamie Shrawder, of SEDA-COG which administers the CDBG program for the county, reported the zoning officer and property owner would be consulted before a decision would be made.
