— DANVILLE – A woman is being treated at Geisinger Medical Center following a two car crash along the intersection of Old Valley School Road and Continental Boulevard Monday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly before 4 p.m. State police from the Milton barracks have not yet released the names of the drivers, one man, driving an orange Dodge Dart, and a woman, driving a gray Subaru Legacy. State police cited the man for the accident.
The man was unhurt following the crash. The woman was seen walking around on her own after the crash, but was later placed on a gurney and taken to Geisinger by Danville Ambulance.
Mom’s Dutch Kitchen employee and trained EMT Harsimrat Sidhu, who witnessed the crash from his car, stopped to offer his assistance after the accident. From where Sidhu saw the accident on Sheraton Road, the woman was preparing to turn out from Old Valley School Road onto the westbound lane of Continental Boulevard. The man, who Sidhu said had a red light, was driving towards Danville along Continental Boulevard.
“He was going really fast,” Sidhu said.
Sidhu checked the woman for a neck injury following the accident.
“She seemed okay,” he said, noting that she had first refused treatment from Danville Ambulance before deciding to be taken to Geisinger. Sidhu later reported what he saw to the state police.
Traffic was reduced around the accident site.
Also responding were Valley Township Fire Department, Liberty Township Fire Department and Danville fire police.
