MARC: Help us design trail logo

DANVILLE — DANVILLE — Residents will be able to design a logo for the North Branch Canal Trail.

Montour Area Recreation Commission Director Bob Stoudt said the logo design contest is open to all interested parties. School-age children are particularly encouraged to participate. The guidelines for this contest are as follows: logos should be created within a circle or oval border, logos should use no more than four colors, logos should convey the history and character of the North Branch Canal Trail corridor along the North Branch of the Susquehanna River and logos should be fairly simple in design so that they can be easily reproduced, enlarged and reduced as needed.

Submissions should be emailed to Stoudt at MontrRec@ptd.net by March 5.  Adobe Illustrator or similar image formats are preferred, though all formats, including hand-drawn hard copies, will be accepted for consideration. Hard copies should be mailed to: MARC, PO Box 456, Danville, PA 17821.

Submissions will become the property of the Montour Area Recreation Commission and may be altered, reproduced or otherwise used as needed. MARC will review all contest submissions during its March 10 regular meeting and will announce the contest winner on March 11.

The winning designer will receive a $25 prize and a MARC trail crew fleece hat and long-sleeved T-shirt, as well as recognition by MARC. For more information about this contest, call Stoudt at 570-336-2060 or email MontrRec@ptd.net.  To learn more about the North Branch Canal Trail project,  visit http://montourrec.com.
