Zing in May

DANVILLE – Zing Productions will present performances in May in the Booth Theater at 116 Mill St.

The silent film series continues with “The Kid,” starring Charlie Chaplin, at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. May 10. There will be live musical accompaniment by Vic Boris.

Gregg Burgess and Beverley Conrad will entertain at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. May 17.

They have been performing together since they were married in 1980. Gregg also performs as a solo piano player of blues, ballads and boogies. Beverly is most often seen as the strolling fiddler at many regional events.

Rusty Foulke, lead guitarist for Danville’s Hybrid Ice, will take the stage at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. May 24. He is returning by popular demand.

Tim Latshaw will entertain at 7 p.m. and at 9 p.m. May 31. A musician for more than 40 years, he was the founding member of the popular Central Pennsylvania band Liteswitch which played before audiences in the coal region for decades. Last summer, the band reunited and entertained long-time fans at Knoebels’ band shell. Most recently, Latshaw has worked with the band Sleuth.

Space is limited. Admission is $10. Reservations should be made by calling 561-255-0886 or 570-441-5873.

The theater holds string jams from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. People are encouraged to bring their guitars, banjo, dulcimer, ukulele and other strings. A freewill donation is asked. Students of The Music Box and their families can attend for free. Snacks and drinks will be provided.
