Smash that Like button: Danville Borough launches YouTube channel

DANVILLE — The borough of Danville has launched an official YouTube channel.

According to the borough’s spring newsletter, Danville started the channel as a way of seeking new and different ways to better reach constituents as well as promote Danville, businesses, industries and community organizations.

Found at, the channel will allow the borough to share Danville-related promotional videos with citizens and people looking to relocate to, open a new business or visit the borough.

Those viewing the channel should check out the first posted video “Danville, PA: About Our Community,” a seven-minute overview of the heritage, economic assets, people and way of life.

Anyone with a video highlighting a Danville business, a nonprofit organization or a community organization can share it on the channel.  For more information,   contact Dan Knorr, administrator of government affairs, at 570-275-3091 or

In the newsletter, Council President Scott Richardson wrote that “These are exciting times in Danville borough with all the opportunities fresh beginnings and new starts always bring. The borough has new council members, a new mayor, and, of course, a new council president. I am truly honored to serve the people of Danville in this capacity and hope always to find innovative or fresh solutions to old problems.”

He continued to write one of his personal goals is to always be forward-looking and search for ways to improve “this already superb community of ours.”

Richardson encourages everyone involved to see issues with a new set of eyes, to put aside pre-existing assumptions and to think of the best way forward for Danville.

Richardson wrote the borough staff is actively investigating various options that could reduce overall spending, bring increased revenue and generally improve lives.

“As the months proceed, we will continue to work on these initiatives and will attempt to get them active as quickly as possible to benefit you, the people of Danville,” he wrote.
