Rickert leads Line Mountain past Pine Grove

MANDATA — Cole Rickert threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns, and Line Mountain rolled up another 230 yards on the ground in a 27-0 win over Pine Grove on Friday in a Tri-Valley League game.

The Eagles (7-1) scored all four touchdowns in the first half. Pine Grove (1-7) managed just 133 yards of offense.

Austin Snyder’s 7-yard TD run opened the scoring. Rickert followed with 40-plus-yard touchdown passes to Erik Smeltz and Jeremy Renn (twice) before halftime.

Smeltz hauled in a 48-yard scoring pass in the first quarter among his three catches. Both of Renn’s grabs went to the end zone, 46 and 42 yards, respectively, to put the Eagles ahead by 27 at the half.

Dillan Michael led Line Mountain’s rushing attack with 132 yards on 12 carries. He also caught two passes for 27 yards.
