2014 fantasy baseball waiver wire gems for Monday, June 2: Khris or Chris, Davis is crushing

I know Yahoo just opened up its fantasy football section. I know we’re all excited about OTAs and NFL training camp, even though it’s still off in the distance. But you need to stop daydreaming but NFL Sundays because the Major League Baseball season is still kicking hard and you have to care for your teams.

Yes, you. Don’t deny it. You haven’t changed your lineup since the NFL Draft. I know because I’m there too.

Then today I saunter into the league home to find about 200 DLs next to my players and even a couple N/As. What the Freddie Freeman!

I composed myself and jumped on the waiver wire, expecting it to be decimated. But I found quite a few great gems out there.

Here are just a few waiver wire gems available in a lot of leagues:

Khris Davis – This is a weird place to start. The Milwaukee outfielder has been hitting like his homophone (Baltimore’s Chris Davis), slugging three homers and scoring 10 runs in the last seven days. He’s also batting .444 with a 1.463 OPS over the stretch. He’s not super available in Yahoo leagues, but he should be owned in way more than 57%. Check your wire if you want power, the hottest commodity in fantasy baseball. Go. Now. I found him in one of my leagues. The rest of the list will be here when you get back.

Adam Lind – The Blue Jays are crushing just about every pitcher they face and Lind has been a big part of the charge. He only has one homer over the last seven days, but he’s scored 9 runs. He’s batting.455 with a 1.182. He’s only struck out once since May 16. Despite all that, Lind is owned in just 36% of Yahoo leagues.
