Guess Who! Week 25!

— She’s always answered the call, whether as a young woman, working the overnight shift for an answering service (“4 to 12 and holidays”) or in her current job, answering the needs of her neighbors and friends.

“I guess it’s ingrained,” she says. “I’ve always been practical.”

In her spare time, in those rare moments when she has some, she loves to cook and bake.

“Most people don’t know that about me,” she admits with a hearty laugh. “I do the cooking for all of us at home.”

And when it comes to her favorite comfort food, no question, it’s chocolate.

“The richer,” she says, “the better.”

Because of the stresses of her job, it isn’t all that surprising that the music she loves to listen to most is by an extraordinary artist, Loreena McKennitt, a harpist and pianist.

“Everything she puts out is amazing. She’s my go-to favorite. And she’s even better in concert.”

Her calm demeanor in stressful situations belies what she identifies as being at the top of her bucket list: sky dive. Her family might not like that. She’d also like to visit Italy, to soak in the culture.

But when all is said and done, her favorite spot on Earth is her backyard, at sunset.

“It’s calming,” she says. “It’s gorgeous. Looking out, I almost feel close to the sky.”
