NEW BERLIN — The Integral Yoga Center of PA is now offering T’ai Chi Ch’uan classes each Wednesday morning and evening.
The morning class, held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. will be led by Bernie Olszowy.
He began T’ai Chi classes at Fairfield University, in Fairfield, Conn. in 1988, and continued at the T’ai Chi Farm in New Jersey where he studied with multiple teachers from around the world.
He has more than 25 years’ experience teaching the Yang style of T’ai Chi called Chen Man-Ch’ing, and has taught at the Evangelical Health Center, LARA gym and Nottingham Village.
Steve Gallik will instruct the evening class, held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. He began his studies of T’ai Chi more than 20 years ago and has given presentations in various settings including the PA Annual OT Conference, PA College of Technology, Allenwood Prison and has taught in assisted living facilities in the area. He was also part of a project at Bucknell where they studied the effects of a T’ai Chi practice on balance and sensory ability.
