Shingles vaccines to be given June 25

DANVILLE — DANVILLE – The Montour County State Health Center will administer Shingles vaccines to any eligible residents 50 and older from 9 a.m. to noon June 25 in the Montour Senior Center, 500 W. Mahoning St.

Pre-registration is required. Appointments can be made by calling the state health center at 570-275-7092 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. They should mention the senior center when calling to schedule an appointment.

Those registering will be screened for income and insurance eligibility when they call. If insurance pays for any part of the vaccination, they are not eligible to receive the vaccine.

Individuals who fall below the poverty income guidelines will e provided the vaccine free.

A $5 vaccine administration fee in the form of a check or money order and payable to the Commonwealth of PA will be collected at the time the vaccine is given for any individual falling above the income level.
