MIFFLINBURG — The second, in a series of three writing workshops, as part of the ‘Union County — My Memories: Stories in Celebration of the Union County Bicentennial’ writing project, is slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18 at Mifflinburg Bank & Trust Company and at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19 at The Public Library for Union County, Lewisburg.
In the first workshop of the series, Gale Duque, retired writing and teaching consultant, explained how to get started by choosing a topic, writing the first word and expanding your idea. In the second workshop, she’ll focus on the revision process of selecting the most effective words, getting feedback and eliminating unnecessary words.
The third and final workshop, featuring editing, is slated for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Herr Memorial Library, Mifflinburg and at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 at The Public Library for Union County.
Residents of all ages are invited to submit a memoir of their own, using no more than 200 words, about Union County.
