Packwood To Hold Kids’ Felting Program

— LEWISBURG — Packwood House Museum announces that the second session in its series of summer kids’ workshops, “Felting Flowers,” will be held on June 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. In honor of Edith Fetherston and her love for nature and botanical gardens, PA certified k-12 art educator, Colette Heim-Frantz, M.S. Ed, will present the program for children ages 10 years and up. Participants will learn wet felting techniques using dyed wool and other materials to design a flower, butterfly, dragonfly, or snail motif that they can take home following the program. Class size is limited to 12 students, so registration is required by calling (570) 524-0323.

Packwood House Museum’s 2014 Summer Programs for Kids runs June 17 through Aug. 12. Each session will be held 10:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday mornings at the museum’s Tour Center, located at 15 North Water St. in Lewisburg, unless otherwise noted. All programs are free, but space is limited and the museum requests that parents pre-register their children. Funding for the programs has been provided by grants from the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts and the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts. All supplies will be provided.
