MIFFLINBURG — Children of all ages are encouraged to take part in the Herr Memorial Library’s first annual Children’s Holiday Cookie Baking Contest. Judging and sampling takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 19 at the library.
All entries are sampled and judged by a panel of cookie enthusiasts including library director Kelly Walter, professional pastry chef Krista Emery, S.U.N. Area Dairy Princess Ashley Wetzel and Santa Claus himself. Prizes are awarded in four age categories and best overall.
After the judging is complete and the winners are announced, the holiday fun begins. Crafts, cookie sampling, hot cocoa, milk provided by the S.U.N. Area Dairy Princess organization, and a special visit with Santa Claus, who’ll be reading ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. Santa is also posing for photos, so be sure to bring your camera.
