— LEWISBURG — The cooler temps in the Valley are welcome right about now as the Lewisburg Community Pool shut down Monday while a pool pump is repaired.
A pump motor went out sometime Saturday night, said Katie Davis, executive director of the Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority, which operates the pool. A new one is ordered and expected to arrive in the next 24 to 48 hours, she said.
“We’re hoping to open again Thursday at the earliest,” Davis said, “but definitely by this weekend.”
Temperatures in the Valley this week are expected to be “pleasant,” according to AccuWeather, in the mid to high 70s with nighttime lows in the 40s and 50s.
Davis was on her way to a meeting to discuss the pool and subsequent issues, including compensation for season pass holders to make up for the days the pool was not operating, she said.
Family pool passes run $215 for Lewisburg borough and East Buffalo Township residents, $280 for non-residents.
